Law & Criminality

The law should be the point at which savagery ended because civilization stood in its path.

ARIANA FRANKLIN, Mistress of the Art of Death

Law is what's keeping us civilized. Law is what keeps the world running. Without law there would be nothing; no schools, no jobs, no technology. We would be stuck at where we started from.

There is but one law for all, namely, that law which governs all law, the law of our Creator, the law of humanity, justice, equity -- the law of nature and of nations.
EDMUND BURKE, speech on Impeachment of Warren Hastings, May 28, 1794

Law originated from religion; religion originated from the word of God. A long time ago, God fearing people who knew what was right and what was wrong spread the word about God and struck fear into people, telling them that they will be judge by their actions and there will be consequences.

Law is not law, if it violates the principles of eternal justice.
LYDIA MARIA CHILD, speech, 1861

So now at least the people know that there are limits in their very actions. So this fear slowly developed and the people decided that some people should face the consequences of the crimes they committed while they are still alive, instead of facing them in the afterworld.

The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread.

ANATOLE FRANCE, The Red Lily

Barbarians used to steal food from other barbarians but when the law came up, we now have to work or our needs. They steal food because they did not know that it i wrong, but as soon as they know that karma exists, they'd be working or their food.

The Law ... is perfection of reason.

SIR EDWARD COKE, Institutes: Commentary upon Littleton

Therefore the world have changed, with more people working and technology rising, our world has formed into this because we knows whats right and whats wrong in life.

  1. The photos really grab the reader's attention. It's simple post and you can try to add more explanations that answer the 5W. You can expand more on how the law is created and passed, when the law is imposed etc. Overall good job on the post. :D

  2. Impressive as usual but I HAVE to disagree with you on your views concerning law and civilisation. Read mine to see what I think. Nice pictures and interesting ideas but you shouldn't have concluded so fast.
